Planung eines nachhaltigen, multifunktionalen Unternehmens

A key topic for all food forests is a business plan as it shows if the envisioned design is capable of sustaining the farmers livelihood. It might not be a favorite task of a food forester to work on excel table and numbers, but a thought-through business plan will give planning security  and can provide funding opportunities. It is a way to give partners like clients, land owners or banks an idea about the reliability and trustworthiness of the enterprise.

Ein solcher Plan ist für jeden Standort unterschiedlich, da die Pflanzen und Produkte sowie die Vermarktungswege standortspezifisch und die Preise kontextabhängig sind. Daher wird dieses Kapitel mit einigen allgemeinen Leitkriterien und Fragen beginnen. Es wird Instrumente für die (Begrenzung) der Pflanzenliste, die Markt- und Pflanzenforschung, die effiziente Planung, die Auswahl vielversprechender Produkte und Dienstleistungen usw. enthalten. All dies wird mit Beispielen aus unseren Fällen untermauert.

Eine gute Quelle für die Geschäftsplanung ist die Arbeit des niederländischen network im Kontext des Green Deal Food Forests. Es beinhaltet examplary sheets of business plans für unterschiedliche Arten von Waldgärten bspw. mit produktivem, biodiversen oder erholungsreichem Fokus.
